Abreskia: Tradition and Innovation to Stop Depopulation
In recent decades, the rural areas of Sardinia have experienced a silent but devastating transformation: depopulation. According to the ISTAT, between 2000 and 2020, over the 40% of Sardinian municipalities recorded a demographic decline greater than 20%, with dramatic peaks in the small villages of the hinterland. This phenomenon is not just a question of numbers: behind the statistics are hidden empty houses, deserted squares and traditions that risk disappearing forever.
A New Dawn: The Abreskia Project
Abreskia, which in Sardinian means “dawn”, represents a new opportunity for the rural communities of Sardinia. Thanks to the valorization of cultural heritage, the creation of new economic opportunities and the recovery of traditions, we want to stop depopulation and bring vitality back to the villages of the hinterland.

Why Sardinia?
