Operation of “DECEMENTIFICATION” at “Casa Amsicora” and exhumation of “S'Incodadu” in collaboration with the “archaeologist” Giampaolo Tatti.
In the 60s, 70s and 80s, the urban landscape of Sardinia underwent a profound transformation, with the demolition of many ancient stone and wood houses, replaced by “modern” buildings in concrete and brick. This change has altered the appearance of many villages, creating a disharmonious mix between the traditional “Stone Houses” and the new architectural styles.
To rediscover how the inland towns of Sardinia once were, just visit places like Old Gairo, an Ogliastra village abandoned following a flood in the 50s. Here you can see the ancient houses, which despite being semi-destroyed, still reveal an intact beauty.
Since the 2000s, Sardinia's historical heritage has been protected by regional laws that safeguard its uniqueness and the devastation has ended.
Even at Casa Amsicora we decided to recover the past by eliminating, where possible, the concrete interventions. We started from the garden, demolishing the "cast" that covered the courtyard to bring to light theancient paving in trachyte stone and pebbles.
We will proceed gradually, also removing another “legacy” from the 70s: the Eternit, present in one of the appurtenances, to bring the house back to its original beauty.
To achieve these goals, we are looking for investor partners interested in joining us in this recovery and restoration project that, once completed, will be able to host the proposals presented in the “Abreskia project”.
